FLTA launches new training and safety drive at Logistics Link Live

Thursday, May 20, 2010

The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) has chosen this year’s Logistics Link Live show as a unique opportunity to launch its new apprenticeship and safety awards programme. Taking place in Coventry’s Ricoh Arena 16-17 June, the show will provide an outstanding platform for this new initiative from a leading force in the industry and is ideally placed for visitors from all parts of the country. The FLTA will also be showcasing its prestigious Safety Awards and Safety Week.

Expanding on the safety theme the organisers of Logistics Link Live are also hosting a feature to promote forklift truck safety. Top materials handling suppliers Linde, Jungheinrich and Doosan will be supporting the safety promotion with a live display of the latest safety features of modern forklifts.

Recognising the success of Logistics Link shows, leading mainland European supply chain specialist @Logistics Reply UK has chosen the Coventry event for its UK debut. The company offers a complete range of advanced services and solutions for clients in retail, fashion, food, consumer products, automotive spares and manufacturing, 3PLs and telecoms, with more than 200 clients including FIAT, Martini and Diesel. The company has recently introduced SIDEUP Reply – a cost effective software package available on a monthly fee basis, ideal for projects where capital expenditure must be kept to a minimum.

The effects of volcanic ash on the transport and logistics sector have made Logistics Link Live an even more indispensable event for the industry. 80% of the respondents to a Logistics Link Live website poll stated their business had been adversely affected by the effects of volcanic ash. This means that the clear majority of the country’s logistics decision makers should be looking to review their supply chain to counter the continued risk of disruption to their operations.

Logistics Link Live exhibitors will be presenting products and services ranging from materials handling machinery, packaging and labelling systems, automated storage and handling equipment to warehouse building services. For visitors interested in IT systems and software for both warehouse and transport applications the show offers the biggest choice under one roof for years. Dozens of exhibitors will be presenting the latest in WMS, RFID, scanners and bar codes, stock track and trace, remote vehicle monitoring, transport and fleet planning and management, mobile computing and much more.
