SSI Schaefer Says Farewell to Jack

After four productive years with SSI Schaefer, General Manager, Jack de Bruijn, has resigned his UK post to return to the Netherlands.

Jack has led SSI Schaefer and his team from strength to strength in establishing them as the leading materials handling business in the UK and now confidently hands the reins over to his successor, Jaap Vos.

Having previously run his own business, Jaap brings the enthusiasm, drive and experience needed to ensure Schaefer�s continued success.

Jaap said: "Jack has done a great job in turning the company around and it will certainly be a challenging act to follow. With over 18 years experience in the field of automation I hope to build on the solid foundations that Jack has worked so hard to achieve."

Under the previous guidance of Jack the Automated Materials Handling Systems team has successfully won a number of automation projects across the UK. SSI Schaefer has also put a tremendous amount of effort into developing new technologies in all areas of materials handling and with the changes in legislation in Health & Safety and ergonomics, the Schaefer team is working continuously to safeguard warehouse environments.

Jack�s highlight with SSI Schaefer has been the creation of a stable, yet growing organisation, having seen a number of global key players pulling back out of the UK market. Whilst other leading UK manufacturers have gone through various restructures, Schaefer has sustained its continued growth over the past four years.

Jack said: "I am sorry to be leaving SSI Schaefer at such an exciting stage of real expansion into the automation side of the business but I am looking forward to starting up my own business with an innovative new product for the materials handling industry."

He continued: "I am confident that Jaap will bring his own creative, innovative and motivating management skills to the role. The only advice I will give to Jaap is to get the Schaefer philosophy as quickly as possible into your head. Use the innovative products to develop creative and cost efficient solutions and keep a continuous improvement philosophy with regards to service levels to our customers."
