Logistics Showroom ready for business

The two-day show, from the organisers of Logistics Link Live, takes over Solar, one of Gazeley�s latest eco-friendly warehouses, to create a dedicated demonstration area and exhibition venue.

Taking full advantage of the unprecedented space and high ceilings available in the Live Demonstration Area, Elephante will be showing a huge 8m lift, while Haco will be putting its eco-friendly cleaning machines through their paces, and Combilift will be holding the Midlands heat of its Driver of the Year contest. Visitors will be able to test the forklifts by picking up and carrying bulky loads round a challenging course.

Psion Teklogix will be running a live Voice Pick Olympics showing the benefits of voice picking versus paper and terminal picking, and Zetes will give hourly live demos, showcasing the differences between paper-based picking, picking using barcode scanners and voice technology.

Other live demonstrations from leading suppliers include: conveyors from Diamond Phoenix, Narrow Aisle lift trucks, roller shutter doors from Ro-Dor, automated control systems from MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) and eco-friendly packaging from Easypack.

The demonstrations and exhibits are complemented by a free seminar programme on both days of the event. The seminars focus on the latest thinking in the industry and include sessions on the justifications for automated storage and retrieval systems, demystifying RFID, applying voice technology, �pay as you go� on logistics systems procurement and steel fibre reinforced concrete floors. There will also be a best-practice case study showing how mobile technology helped the furniture retailer Harveys cut false �damage during delivery� claims.
