We aim to use our knowledge and experience to assist food producers, processors, and distributors with practical and achievable methods to reduce their carbon footprint by reducing waste within the food supply chain.
Current consultancy projects include working with a Wiltshire based consultancy, Rural Development Associates, on behalf of a client to secure supplies of waste foodstuffs and to plan the logistics for returning the digestate to farms to act as biofertiliser.
The client, Malaby Biogas, has been established to develop the commercial application of anaerobic digestion (AD) for the production of methane rich biogas and biofertiliser. The chemical process of anaerobic digestion has been understood for centuries and the breakdown of organic matter into methane, carbon dioxide and a nutrient rich substrate was used by the Victorians to convert sewage into gas to power street lights. Malaby Biogas will provide a waste disposal solution and an energy generation solution in one safe, clean process.
Previous consultancy assignments include secondment on a short-term consultancy basis to the International Finance Corporation advising Public Joint Stock Company Concern Khlibprom, a prominent Ukrainian bread manufacturer that incorporates 14 processing companies and is one of the leaders in the national bread-making industry.
In addition to consultancy, Logistics Planning Limited is the UK representative for
- Cimcorp Oy, the leading supplier of Robotic systems for logistics operations. The company – that has its headquarters in Finland- is active worldwide and offers automation solutions for the food and beverage, retail and tyre industries as well as for mail processing.
- ToolBox Bakery Solutions provides supply chain management for bakeries – from raw materials inwards through production management to paperless despatching and fleet management systems. With over 500 successful installations operating in bakeries worldwide there are a range of tried and tested products for production management, paperless despatching and fleet management.
- Anneliese Mertes have been producing and developing industrial bakeware and racks at their Eschweiler factory in the Western part of Germany for over 50 years. More than 100 specialised staff process around 1300 tonnes of aluminium and 1500 tonnes of stainless and aluminium/steel each year into high quality and energy saving pressed baking tins, trays, and racks.
